The Good in Good Friday

Good Friday is one of the most solemn days on the Christian calendar. It is the day that Jesus of Nazareth was crucified for the sins of the world. Just how the term “good” came to be associated with Good Friday is not clear. Some think it is a corruption of “God Friday” while still others believe it means pious, devout, or holy.

However, I have often heard Good Friday referred to as “Good” in relationship to what Jesus did. By giving His life he transformed a day that was meant to be evil into something altogether good.

The Treasure Principle Class

I want to give a shout out to everyone who joined me over the past 12 weeks as we took an in depth look  at “The Treasure Principle” based on a popular book by Randy Alcorn.  This teaching series has been very unique as the material was taught on Sunday morning during the Sunday School hour at 9:30 AM. The course was then taught on Thursday evening during Bible study with a deeper and more intense focus on the 6 key principles.

Finally, the “Treasure Principle” was engaged from the pulpit in a series of sermons centered on giving and stewardship. The class has helped the church get ready for the 90 Day Tithe Challenge which will start on April 3, 2016.

If you would like to purchase the book we still have copies available in the church office.
