40 Days of Prayer
I pray all is well with you and your family. As we head into the dog days of summer the Lord has laid on my heart a passion to have New Hope engage in 40 Days of Prayer. If you have been reading the news hopefully you have a sense that it is time for the people of God to get serious about seeking the face and will of God through prayer.
I found an excellent prayer resource online. You can go to http://church-revitalization.com/login/ and download a free copy of the guide. You do not have to register – just click on 40-day Prayer Guide and download.
Here at New Hope we will be utilizing the guide to help us get connected to God through prayer.

Just Thinking – Rev. Dr. Alonzo Perry, Sr.
I was just thinking how I could use a vacation about now. Nothing fancy.
Then the thought occurred to me…what would happen if God took a vacation. Nothing fancy, just a quick weekend.
I know the bible says that God does not slumber or sleep. However, just suppose what would happen if He didn’t show up when expected. Or worse, He was just plain late.
I am amazed at what I expect from God while often I fall so short of what He expects from me.
Just thinking,
Rev. Dr. Alonzo Perry, Sr.
The Good in Good Friday
Good Friday is one of the most solemn days on the Christian calendar. It is the day that Jesus of Nazareth was crucified for the sins of the world. Just how the term “good” came to be associated with Good Friday is not clear. Some think it is a corruption of “God Friday” while still others believe it means pious, devout, or holy.
However, I have often heard Good Friday referred to as “Good” in relationship to what Jesus did. By giving His life he transformed a day that was meant to be evil into something altogether good.
That’s how God works. He is constantly turning things around.
90 Day Tithe Challenge!
I pray all is well with you and your family. Here at New Hope we are getting ready to take a 90 Tithe Challenge. We are all in. From April 3, 2016 to July 3, 2016 we will be responding to the Word of God in Malachi 3:8-12 where God challenges us to test Him with the tithe.
The word tithe means a “tenth”. At the core we believe tithing is primarily an issue of faith and trust, so we are challenging all the members of New Hope to step up and begin to take God at His word.
Interested? You can sign up in person, online, or by email at: new4hope@verizon just drop us a note letting us know you want to be a part of the challenge.
